What is a New Zealand DMC, and what does Explera do?
A New Zealand DMC (destination management company), also called an inbound tour operator or ground handler, builds and runs programmes inside New Zealand for the travel trade. Explera DMC New Zealand gives the trade net rates, white-label delivery and a 24/7 desk, and travellers can enquire with us directly.

Your execution partner for New Zealand — not a reseller.
Where a travel agent sells a package, a destination management company builds and operates it on the ground: contracting suppliers, managing transfers and guides, handling on-trip changes, and owning the 24/7 coordination once your travellers land. Explera DMC New Zealand works with the travel trade — your margins, your branding, our logistics — and also plans trips for travellers who enquire directly.
From Auckland and the Bay of Islands to Rotorua's geothermal valleys, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown and Piopiotahi / Milford Sound, we design programmes around New Zealand's distances and seasons — then operate them with the care the trade expects of an IATA TIDS-registered DMC.

Four rules that get you a quotation fast.
We welcome enquiries from travel agents and tour operators worldwide. Work with us this way and our New Zealand desk can cost your programme without back-and-forth.
Send your full requirements
Travel dates, number of travellers (adults and children), hotel category, the places to cover, how the group will travel (coach, self-drive or campervan) and every service you need — to b2b@explera.co.nz. We cannot quote from a one-line request.
One enquiry, one fresh email
Start every new enquiry in a new email with a clear subject line, for example “NZ Group — 20 Pax — Feb 2027”. Please do not reply on an old thread: each file is tracked separately, and mixed threads delay your quotation.
Tell us your flexibility
Say whether dates, hotel category or routing can move. New Zealand peak periods — December to February and the ski season — fill early, and flexibility is what keeps a programme quotable.
Costed for your brief
We do not send rate sheets, blanket price lists or general promotions. Every proposal is costed by hand against your requirements, at net rates you mark up yourself, as one package price. We do not price each activity or transfer separately; on request we can split the quotation into hotels and land arrangements.

What does a New Zealand DMC do?
A New Zealand DMC (destination management company), also called an inbound tour operator, receptive operator or ground handler, designs and operates programmes inside New Zealand for overseas travel agents and tour operators: contracting hotels, arranging coaches, self-drive and campervan hire, ferries and domestic flights, booking guides and experiences, and supporting travellers on the ground.
Who does Explera DMC New Zealand work with?
Mainly the travel trade: travel agents, tour operators, OTAs, MICE and incentive planners and corporate travel buyers, for whom every programme can be delivered white-label under their brand. Travellers planning their own New Zealand trip can also enquire with us directly and receive a proposal quoted to their dates.
Is Explera an inbound tour operator or a wholesaler?
An inbound tour operator, or ITO in New Zealand trade usage. Explera DMC New Zealand is an NZ DMC and ground handler that contracts suppliers and operates programmes on the ground — not a reseller. Trade partners book at net rates they mark up themselves, and travellers can also enquire with us directly.
Do you handle groups, FIT and MICE across both islands?
Yes. One desk covers the North and South Islands: series and ad-hoc groups, white-label FIT, MICE and incentives, self-drive and coach touring, all on net rates with a 24/7 desk once your travellers land.
How do I request a New Zealand quotation?
Email your full requirements to b2b@explera.co.nz as a new email with a descriptive subject line, for example “NZ Group — 20 Pax — Feb 2027”. Include travel dates, travellers split into adults and children, hotel category, the places to cover and every service you need.
How far ahead should we book for New Zealand peak season?
As early as possible. December to February is the summer peak, with Christmas, New Year and the January school holidays adding domestic demand, and the ski season fills Queenstown and Wānaka. Send group enquiries for those periods well ahead so hotels and coaches can be held.
Which languages do your guides speak?
English-speaking guides and driver-guides are standard. Other languages can be requested for your source market and are subject to availability — tell us the language in your enquiry and we confirm it at quotation.
Can you deliver under our own brand?
Yes. For trade bookings Explera delivers white-label: your branding on documents, no contact with or marketing to your client, and net rates that you mark up yourself.
Is Explera a New Zealand incoming tour operator and local ground operator?
Yes. Incoming tour operator, incoming tourism company, inbound travel company, incoming travel agency, local tour operator and land operator are names the trade uses for one role. Explera DMC New Zealand is a New Zealand company (no. 9454416) and destination specialist that contracts New Zealand suppliers and runs programmes on the ground for overseas travel companies.
Which cities and regions does Explera DMC New Zealand cover?
All of New Zealand: 67 destinations in 7 trade regions, from Auckland, the Bay of Islands and Rotorua to Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown, Fiordland, Dunedin and Stewart Island / Rakiura. Each destination has its own DMC agent guide, linked by region on this page.
Do I need a separate DMC for each New Zealand city?
No. Explera DMC New Zealand covers both islands from one trade desk, so a programme from Auckland to Queenstown is quoted at net rates, contracted and supported as one file, with one account contact and 24/7 support while your clients travel.
